Tell us about yourself and your role in your organisation
I am the Vice President of Public Affairs for UPS Europe. I lead a group of professionals across the Europe Region advocating for policy that benefits businesses, consumers and communities. UPS’s purpose is to move the world forward by delivering what matters.
What does diversity and inclusion mean to you?
D&I means that our employee workforce and leadership looks like the communities we operate in and that each employee can bring their authentic selves and voice to the workplace. It is creating an environment where a diverse set of input is sought and valued to address the challenges and opportunities in our business and world.
How do you promote and support gender diversity and inclusion in your place of work?
I am one of the Executive Sponsors for the Women’s Leadership Business Resource Group and the Millennials Business Resource Group in Europe. I regularly seek engagement with diverse groups of employees to understand what is on their mind and to help coach them in their career. I am a voice for diversity, equity and inclusion in our Talent Review planning sessions and discussions.
Tell us why you have chosen to support the Rise & Lead Women?
I have a passion for Diversity and Inclusion in the broader community and in businesses and want to be part of an effort and work to advance that. I also have a passion for seeing women reach their full potential and I believe that with the right access to resources and coaching, coupled with companies making strategic changes to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workplace, we can make significant progress in this area. Achieving progress in enabling women to have the confidence, skill sets, exposure and opportunities to advance will benefit businesses, local economies, communities and families.
As an Advisory Board member of Rise & Lead Women, how do you envision promoting our mission and making an impact on the community?
I am committed to supporting the association in providing input to the program development of Rise and Lead Women to provide ideas and to support execution so that the programs can deliver to their full potential to support women in Europe and globally. I am committed to engaging with the association and chairing the Advisory Board to support the success of the Rise and Lead Women foundation.
