The award, which honours commitment to gender diversity in the workplace, was presented at the fifth annual Rise & Lead Summit.
The Hague, 16 September 2022. Today, Rise & Lead Women announced that it has named the Germany-based AllianzU leadership development program #sheleads as the winner of its inaugural Rise & Lead Award for Balanced Leadership.
Implemented in 2011, the Allianz sponsorship programme aims to support women in executive management who are actively seeking a larger leadership role within the company. Since its launch, Allianz has seen strong developments in gender balance among senior leadership: the share of women in its top executive cluster has increased from 16.6% to 24.9% since 2015, with 33% of Allianz Global Executives being #sheleads program alumni, which equals 62% of the entire female population in the highest level of management.
“With #sheleads, Allianz sets a standard for effective gender-balanced policies at work,” said Ebere Akadiri, Founder and President of Rise & Lead Women. “In giving this recognition, Rise & Lead aims to inspire organisations and the executives who lead them across Europe and beyond, that intentional efforts can drive meaningful progress towards diversity and equality.”

The winning initiative by Allianz finished ahead of finalists from Ahold Delhaize (Netherlands), ENGIE (France), Febelfin (Belgium), and Marsh (Germany).
