MEET THE MENTORS

Jody Samuels Ike is currently a Global Brand Director for Portfolio Scotch and Gordon’s Gin at Diageo. She recently moved to The Netherlands after successfully leading Diageo’s Africa Innovation team where she and her team developed innovation for iconic beer & spirit brands such as Guinness, Smirnoff & Baileys. An active champion of diversity and inclusion and a generous mentor, Jody is co-lead of Diageo’s employee resource group for Race Ethnicity & Cultural Heritage, REACH. 

Jody has deep experience in Marketing and Innovation across personal care, automotive and beverage alcohol.  An internationally experienced executive, Jody has driven growth for some of the world’s most admired brands across the US, Latin America and Africa over her 20-year career. She has a passion for creativity, innovation and nurturing talent to unlock opportunities for personal and business growth.  Jody holds a BA from Temple University, Philadelphia PA and an International MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Phoenix, Arizona.   She also serves as Non-Executive Board Member of L5Lab, an information and technology business based in Lagos, Nigeria as well as AACE Foods, an indigenous Nigerian food company. 

Chrysann is currently the Director of Enterprise Sales (EMEA) at Lucid Software, based in Amsterdam.  She has over 15 years of experience in business development, with an expertise in commercial growth models.   

Originally from New York, she built her sales career in finance and telecom before settling in 2014 in sales leadership roles for scaling SaaS companies.  She loves running, spinning, and anything adventurous. 

Avantika Deora is the Chief of Staff at Wehkamp, where she focuses on the execution of Wehkamp’s strategic agenda. Previously she has held an M&A program leadership role, spearheaded the set-up of PMOs, led cost-saving programs and led sales teams. Avantika has an educational background in Finance & Economics.

Avantika grew up in India, in a large family – that nurtured her into the person she is today. After her education in the UK, she moved to the Netherlands. Twelve years later, she is happily married and settled in her home in Almere. When she is not working, you will find her in the kitchen trying out new recipes or behind an easel.

Avantika is driven by getting things done – done right and done well. She is passionate about helping people find and remove obstacles they plant along their journey and realise their true potential. She enjoys being the spider in the web, where on one side, she can use her natural ability to create structure from chaos and on the other side can hone her acquired ability to connect with people.

Gill is currently the UK HR Director & EMEA HR Operations Director of Insight. She is an HR business leader with over 15 years of experience in the IT/Tech sector across EMEA regions.

Gill has a passion and mindset centred around a ‘people first’ approach through growing diverse, inclusive and engaged cultures as well as developing high performing HR teams to overachieve organisational business goals and strategic objectives. She has extensive experience in transformational and organisational change projects.
