WHY EMPOWER WOMEN IN BUSINESS FOR LEADERSHIP AND IMPACT
Rise and Lead Women is a platform for a global tribe of ambitious women leaders and men allies with a mission to promote the financial and leadership inclusion of women in the workplace, marketplace and society.
The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5 targets gender equality because women and girls represent half of the world’s population and therefore half of its potential.Gender equality is critical not only for maintaining peaceful communities, but for creating a sustainable economy.
Globally, women still have fewer economic opportunities than men.According to the 2017 Global Gender Gap report by the World Economic Forum, the gaps between women and men on economic participation is worsening:
To build dynamic and inclusiveeconomies, everyone must be given an equal opportunity. When women and girls who make up half of the world’s population are excluded from contributing to the world’s economy, the global community loses out on skills, ideas and perspectives that are critical for addressing global challenges and harnessing new opportunities.
In order for society to reach its highest potential in building a sustainable future, we need to tap into the full pool of human talent.

Our Theme for the 2019 Summit is Women, Business & Sustainability.
Companies and policy makers need to recognize the value women bring towards productivity and wealth creation. Not using all the resources in the world is simply bad economics. Women are talented and bring a unique style, skills, perspectives and talent critical for addressing global challenges including wealth creation, but the ecosystem is unequal and unfavorable for women.
To build dynamic and inclusiveeconomies, everyone must be given an equal opportunity. In order for society to reach its highest potential in building a sustainable future, we need to tap into the full pool of human talent both in corporates and start-up ecosystem.
